Kindergarten and 1st graders - Dash and DotOur teambuilder today was a game of Telephone. After our game we broke into two groups. The Kindergartners worked with Dash and the Go app and the 1st graders worked with Dash and the Blockly app. The Kindergartners practiced driving Dash to colored circles, alphabet letters and word cards. Our first graders began writing programs in Blockly for their Dash robot to follow. 2nd and 3rd graders - LEGO WeDo 2.0Today the 2nd and 3rd graders continued working on their teambuilding activity (turning the sheet over) and almost figured out a solution. Then we looked at how to write a program in LEGO WeDo. We added programs to our first robots (Getting Started) and then began building a robot with a bumpy wheel structure that would pull something backwards. 4th and 5th graders - VEX IQOur 4th and 5th graders began the day with a review of the different VEX parts and then we completed challenge activities with gears. Our build for the day was two different drive bases. We explored a base that was wider than it was long and the wheels were close together. We also explored a base that was longer than it was wide and the wheels were further apart. Which one do you think is the easiest to maneuver? Why? Does the type of tire/wheel make a difference? We explored this. What do you think we discovered?
